Wuhu Island Map: Every Area and How to Reach It

Wuhu Island is the setting of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and, for the first time in the series, a place you travel across rather than select from a menu. The island is the same shape fans of Wii Sports Resort will recognise: a volcano at the centre, a resort strip along one coast, golf courses on the slopes, and a ring of beaches and islets around the edge.

This guide is organised by area and by how you get there, because the vehicle you pick determines which parts of the island are actually accessible in a session.

The resort plaza

The hub. This is where the sports wall, the Item Center and the Customise editor live, and it is the area every route starts from.

  • Reached by: on foot, immediately.
  • What is here: the home screen facilities and the starting point for the leisure sports.
  • Why you come back: every economy action in the game happens here.

The beach and harbour

The coastal strip wraps around the resort and opens into a harbour with docks and shallow water.

  • Reached by: skateboard along the coastal path, or jet ski from the water side.
  • What is here: several collectibles in the coves, and the best water route for Power Cruising.
  • Why it matters: the coves hide items that are invisible from land.

The mountain and the volcano

The interior is dominated by the volcano and the trails that climb it.

  • Reached by: skateboard up the hill roads, or prop plane for the summit.
  • What is here: elevation-based challenges and a viewpoint that makes the whole island legible.
  • Why it matters: flying a circuit around the volcano is the fastest way to understand the island's layout.

The golf courses

The courses occupy the greener slopes, separated from the resort by elevation rather than distance.

  • Reached by: golf mode directly, or skateboard if you want to see them in the open world.
  • What is here: the sport's full rounds, plus scenery that doubles as a landmark when navigating.
  • Why it matters: the courses are the clearest orientation aid on the island; almost every route can be described relative to them.

The lighthouse and the ruins

The island's older structures sit away from the resort, on quieter ground.

  • Reached by: skateboard, with the plane for scouting.
  • What is here: atmospheric locations and a handful of collectibles.
  • Why it matters: these are the areas most players miss on a first pass, because nothing in the main loop sends you there.

The islets

Small islands sit off the main coast, visible from the air and reachable by water.

  • Reached by: jet ski.
  • What is here: isolated collectibles and quiet water routes.
  • Why it matters: they are the reason Power Cruising is worth learning even if you never race.

Choosing a vehicle

Vehicle Best for Cannot
Prop Plane Scouting, crossing the island fast Collect anything
Skateboard Land routes, plazas, hills Cross water
Power Cruising Coast, coves, islets, four-player racing Reach inland areas

The efficient loop is always the same: scout by air, collect by land and water, return to the plaza to spend.

How the island connects to progression

The island is not a free-roam mode bolted onto a sports game. Collectibles found here unlock outfits that the Item Center's random draw will not give you, and the leisure challenges are the only place some cosmetic types appear. That means time spent learning the island's geography converts directly into customisation options.

For the collectibles themselves, see Spocco Photos and Hibiscus Flowers. For the vehicle controls, see the Prop Plane, Skateboarding and Power Cruising guides.

FAQ

Is Wuhu Island open world?

Yes. You travel across it with the plane, skateboard and jet ski rather than selecting areas from a menu.

Can you walk around the island?

Movement between activities is handled by the three leisure sports; the resort plaza is the on-foot hub.

How do you reach the islets?

By jet ski. The skateboard cannot cross water.

Does exploring earn Spocco Points?

Only incidentally via challenges. Competitive sports are the efficient source.
